The tables in the stuio
I find it important to have lots of images around me of people and art I love. Both are quite inspirational.
-
Woodshop
Can I say this wood-shop is likely this clean once a year. Well, make that every other year.
-
Pate de' Verre
Here I am making a glass boat at a very wonderful workshop I did in Deborah Horrell's studio. She is a wonderful artist and lady!
-
Pate de' verre
The silica and plaster of the mold for pate de' verre are not good things to breathe. Here I am removing the mold from my glass boat.
-
Monoprinting
I'm working at Atelier Meridian on a series of monoprints here. What a great time.
-
Monoprinting
Here we are pulling a monoprint image from the plexi-plate. Jane runs the studio and is a wonderful person to work with.
-
In process...
Here is "Community Has Its Perils" in process. You can see a bit of the inspiration in the image as well.
-
Tornado
Here I am working on the tornado pieces. Notice the little Scotty puppy behind the easel. Let's just say she is often where I am working.
-
Wooden figures
These are the figures that are in "The Whole Night Sky." I amass a large body of supplies that I build the folks out of.
-
Painting in Dan's studio
This is Dan Callis's studio down in Southern California that I was blessed to be able to visit and work with him in. A good man indeed.
-
Sky within a box
This painting is part of one of the shadow boxes. Here it is in process.
-
Checking, always checking
As I work on something, I find myself coming back to it again and again in the next couple of days to make sure its effective. Do you do that?
-
Frames... Frames...
Out of recycled lumber, I took on a task of building 50 of these at one time.
-
More Frames
Any sunny spot, including my porch becomes a place to dry frames. These were all for the "Little Ones" and the frames for them, took as long to make as the paintings.
-
Little ones on the floor
Here are the small paintings all lined up on the floor being good waiting for a frame. (Do you also see the dog toys in this picture?)
-
Little ones on the wall
I brought these shelves in from work just to check these out in process.
Consider this a virtual studio tour. Here are some glimpses into my process of creating, be it images of work in progress, or shots of the various places I find myself working on art. Welcome to behind the wizards curtain.
